How does my Honda CR-V determine the life of the vehicle’s engine oil?

Honda is known to have very strict standards which is why their vehicles are equipped with an indicator light to let drivers know when it’s time for an oil change. The factors that affect engine oil life are engine temperature, engine load, mileage driven, trip duration, vehicle speed, as well as engine speed. If the indicator light has come on even before reaching 5,000 miles, then your vehicle has predicted an early breakdown of your oil based on use and engine conditions. It’s best to bring your CR-V to an authorized professional for service right away when this happens.
