2022 Nissan Maxima Returning to the Original Sedan Construction

Nissan Maxima is one of the best and also good looking vehicles in the market, but will the 2022 Nissan Maxima retain all the powerful features and personalities? Maxima is a reliable sedan that has existed for 4 decades. This fact alone speaks volumes of the quality and performance.

Nissan plans on introducing a new generation set to deliver better quality and performance. With more and more auto manufacturers switching to producing SUV, it is expected that Nissan and the refreshed Maxima will stand out among the crowds. But it also means that Nissan needs to be serious about their plan – and how they are going to compete against other lines.

Powertain and Performance

The current Maxima has a solid engine arrangement, so it is only logical if Nissan is going to keep it going. For the upcoming model, it is expected that V6 24 Valve DOHC engine with 3.5 liter capacity is used. It produces 300 hp of power and 261 Nm of torque, which is quite impressive.

The engine will be coming with CVT transmission and front wheel driving system. Is everything goes as planned, the new ride should be coming with either all wheel or rear wheel driving system – designed to improve the performance and handling.

There is a rumor about the ride uses hybrid technology. But there hasn’t been any official release or confirmation about the possibility of hybrid ride, so let’s not think about it too deeply.

Hopefully, the ride will maintain its not-so-bad fuel economy system. The current one has 20 mpg for the city and 30 mpg for the highway.  If there is a hybrid system, it should affect fuel economy in the positive manner. But then again, let’s wait for the official confirmation.

Exterior Updates

The upcoming 2022 Nissan Maxima will stay as the standard platform. But there are going to be extra touch ups for the upcoming model, making it more premium and good looking.

First of all, the sporty sedan will have long and big construction, with total 190 inches in length and it would be lighter – 82 pounds of weight reduction. This is designed to support and improve road speed as well as better aerodynamics.

Both the front and rear ends would have better styles. One of the most visible changes is the bumper – looking bolder and sharper than before.  Taillights are probably the same, but Nissan may change it as they are pretty outdated.

Interior Cabin

As a premium sedan, it is expected to have sophisticated and exclusive interior cabin. Rumor has it that the cabin may look like Mercy – which is exclusive and luxurious. The sedan has been designed for a total 5 passengers in the most generous and comfortable manner.

Each passenger has generous space for improved comfort, especially for headroom. The cargo area is also big and spacious – which is probably another plus side about the ride.

Another cool thing is the roof top which is easily opened and closed. There are some cool options on using it. You can open it but let the window close to get the sunshine. But if you want to enjoy the cool breeze, open the top and the window altogether.
